Jutta Rabe

Jutta Rabe is a German journalist who worked for the German TV-magazine Spiegel-TV for a number of years as freelanceer as well as for Focus TV, ZDF, ARTE and NDR.

Her book, Die Estonia: Tragödie eines Schiffsuntergangs (ISBN 3-7688-1267-7, ISBN 3-7688-1460-2), about the alleged cover-up of the true cause of the 1994 M/S Estonia passenger ferry disaster, was made into the film Baltic Storm (2003).

In the summer of 2000, Sweden issued an arrest warrant against Rabe for violating the sanctity of the shipwreck, in violation of the Estonia Agreement of 1995, barring her from entering Sweden or risk prosecution. In August 2006 the arrest warrent was dismissed by prosecutor Ronnie Jacobsen and new investigations into the case Estonia were startet. Almost at the same time the estonian prosecutor Margus Kurm published the part report from his investigation which came in many parts to the same results as Jutta Rabe had lined out in her book.Permission is granted to copy, distribute and/or modify this document under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 or any later version published by the Free Software Foundation; with no Invariant Sections, with no Front-Cover Texts, and with no Back-Cover Texts.
