Mr. Bean (animated TV series)

Mr. Bean is a British animated television series based on the British comedy of the same name.

The character of Mr. Bean was revived in this 2002 animated series, which again featured little actual dialogue, with most being either little soundbites or mumbling, similar to Happy Tree Friends. Rowan Atkinson provided the voice for Bean, and all of the animated Bean actions are taken from Atkinson himself. Other characters' voices are provided by Jon Glover, Rupert Degas, Gary Martin and Lorelei King.

Some people have questioned the point of an animated Mr. Bean, as although he is now capable of far stranger adventures (and facial expressions), they lack the interest generated when it was an actual person doing it. However, a colourful animated character is supposedly more endearing to younger children than an actor.

The series is notable for following up on the "alien" origin theory for the character, with its final episode revealing a race of identical Beans who come to retrieve their lost friend, only to have him opt to stay on Earth with his girlfriend.

Despite the series' actual title being simply Mr. Bean, some broadcasters referred to this series as Mr. Bean: plus a subtitle for disambiguating with the original live-action series. Disney Channel in Southeast Asia refers this series as "Mr. Bean - The Animated Series" and the original live-action series as "Mr. Bean - Live Action Series" in their schedule. The German version, aired on Super RTL, is titled "Mr. Bean - Die Cartoon-Serie".
